The sole function of any typewriter new or old has always remained the same. These intricate and often bulky machines allow anyone to generate uniform documents by inputting characters one at a time via a keyboard.

The fact that they share a common function does not mean they all look alike. The goal of this ongoing project was to catalogue a relatively small selection of these dusty type machines in an attempt to draw out the unique design and individual character of each model.
